Dip in Brilliant is a trendy Punjabi cafe/restaurant in Fulham (next to Chelsea Football Club) led by celebrity chef Dipna Anand of Southall’s original Brilliant Restaurant.
Dipna’s passion and urge of taking Punjabi food to a completely new level grew the formation of her Dip in Brilliant dream. Her father Gulu opened the first Brilliant Restaurant in London in 1975 and her brother Shanker continues in flying the flag of the Brilliant up high alongside his father. The founder of the Brilliant brand Bishen Dass Anand opened the first Brilliant restaurant, nightclub and hotel back in Kenya in the 1950’s. Today Dipna continues to re-create her grandfather’s recipes which date back to over sixty-five years together with sharing her love for Indian food through her Television Series Dip in Kitchen, her cookery school in Southall and her collaboration with the Compass group.
Southall’s Brilliant Restaurant can be explained as a fine dining relaxed eatery serving Punjabi cuisine with a Kenyan twist to customers who are loyal fans from back in Kenya as well as London’s curry loving nation who simply can’t get enough ‘brilliant’ food!. Dip in Brilliant which chef Dipna calls Brilliant’s baby is a new retro trendy casual dining concept in Punjabi cuisine that Dipna says is all about ‘keeping things real’. Dipna believes Dip in Brilliant is a place where punters can dip in and out of within thirty minutes if that is what they are feeling or can sit and enjoy until their heart desires. Dip in Brilliant is about serving hearty Punjabi food in a casual setting. Keeping the flavours pure, the spices balanced and dishes as authentic as possible and then presenting the food in a chic fashion yet keeping somewhat of a traditional feel is the experience created when you dip in!
Dip in Brilliant is where you can enjoy a Punjabi meal experience that’s fresh vibrant and creative both in taste and surroundings, creating a new lease of life to Indian cooking. At Dip in Brilliant you eat from a thali (Indian name for a metal round platter), this in Chef Dipna’s opinion creates an even more relaxing food culture and also encourages the use of hands to eat making the meal even more delicious. A Punjabi meal is about sharing and creating that atmosphere of togetherness and at Dip in Brilliant our guests become part of our family. Brilliant by name, brilliant by nature, we look forward to welcoming you.
